Bio

Hi there! I’m Emily Pennington.
I’m a writer, adventurer, world traveler, and all-around lover of things that get people out of their comfort zones. These days, I call Los Angeles my home, but you can often find me on high-elevation trails all over Sequoia, Yosemite, and the Eastern Sierra.

When I’m not out trekking, I work as a freelance journalist. I’m proud to have written for Outside Magazine, Backpacker Magazine and Mountain Life Magazine.

My online blogs have been featured at Backpacker OnlineOutdoor Project, Camping for Women, Women Who Explore, Hike It Off, and The Outbound, to name a few.

I was recently interviewed for HumaNature on Wyoming Public Radio, chatting about the gut-shattering experience of breaking up with my boyfriend while climbing Mt. Whitney. I loved the way this episode turned out

It was my giddiest pleasure to be featured on the Of Mountains and Men podcast a while back. Click here to check out the full episode!
